Got Outside for a Photoshoot

One of our favorite meals is tuna salad, fried potatoes and kidney beans. We've had it for 50 years, but not so much in the past few years since I don't like frying and adding the calories to our meals. But the other night I gave Love Bunny a treat—no, not that, but of tuna salad, fried potatoes and onions fried in the pan and…well, here's the story.

As I said it's been the same meal for 50+ years for us. Our kids love it and we both love it. So I told hubs we were going to have it. He even peeled the potatoes. I did the tuna salad. Everything was just about ready and he pulled out frozen lima beans. I asked what he was doing. That's not what we regularly have with the tuna and potatoes. He said, "It isn't?"!!! I just looked at him like he'd lost it. He loves kidney beans and that's how that meal goes. I just couldn't believe he'd forget that. But he put the limas away and we had the kidneys. Duh!

It was a spring-like day here recently and I had a young mother and her 3 year old daughter visit with me. She's a really neat person to come and sit with an old lady and chat. We fed and entertained her little girl, who was just a cutie. There are few women who will venture out to just visit and chat with an old lady but once they see I'm just a girl of a different age they have a delightful time. Anyway, it was nice to have a visitor since hubs was teaching a class that day. We chatted and then some Shari's Berries arrived and she got to share a couple with me. See, there are benefits to visiting. Go out and do it some more, y'all!!

I also got out to do a photoshoot for some perfume bottles I decorated a few years ago and included with some I found online and thought I'd share with you, so just go on and treat yourself to some eye candy.

Can we say a "barrel full of roses"?

I know you're lusting right now for this lovely old home.

Is this not gorgeous? I love this room. If I had a guest room it would look very similar to this.

This was made for a child's Mad Hatter birthday party. Can you imagine the time this creation must have taken?

More uses for old ladders.

I have definitely decided to try and find some little birdcages like this and paint them pink and aqua.

And more uses for some ladders.

Yeah, yeah, I know...your dream room. ;-)

More pink walls to give you inspiration.

And your dream patio. :-)

And then there are some I decorated myself.

Room Eye Candy

I'm just going to relax today and not tell you a story, just let you peruse the photos I've collected for your enjoyment. Wait, wait, wait...I just thought of something I've been wanting to mention to you bloggers.

A while back someone asked me about the dimensions of my blog because I could fit in wider photos. I have an iMac with a 21" screen so it's big but someday I'm hoping to get a 27" iMac. ;-) Yeah, right, like that'll happen.

Anyway, because I like large screens and a lot of room for my pictures I went into the template and made it the maximum width I could possibly do. Do not try this if you're not familiar with templates; you could screw the whole thing up.

Oh, if I could only get my space to look this good. Sigh.

Hanging a pretty blouse in a window is a very creative idea. This looks like a living room but also a studio with the bolts of fabric resting in the corner. Could it be a small apartment somewhere doing double duty?

Magnificent in white with a touch of beige.

So much eye candy it's giving me a sugar high! I love this vignette.

And this one, too.

And this very simple nostalgic one also.

Don't you just wish?! ;-)

And for lovers of quilts. I'm especially drawn to lavender and pink ones but my granddaughter's favorite color is purple and variations of that color. She would love this one.

Can we say caauuute her?! Look at all that red punctuating that darling island in that darling kitchen.

I especially noticed how this homeowner worked these gorgeous fabrics into her living room wall decor. I find it absolutely stunning what she has done. Inexpensive and very innovative, not to mention the teapot/teacup lamp.

Elegance and...

Sentimentality

A work of art is above all an adventure of the mind.

Goldfish and Animal Crackers for Pink Saturday 3/10/2012

Time once again to visit Beverly's blog and view all the pink participants.

*

But first let me rant once more.

I have joined other Linky parties but Beverly's is my favorite. Probably because she's such a sweetheart for one but also because she actually visits you when you leave a comment on her blog and she cares; you can feel her love and she's always willing to help you with a giveaway. I mean she leaves a comment on your blog also. That is NOT why I join her for Pink Saturday though. I've done PS for a few years now and truly enjoy it. I don't get around to all the participants because I simply don't have the time but I visit some of them.

But I thought recently that I'd participate in one or two more just for fun. And, no, I still don't have the time but as long as I'm posting blogs I may as well post them to the Linky parties once in a while.

Well, recently I joined one, commented and she never visited me. If she wants us to join her Linky party why doesn't she visit us? She sent me an email saying thanks but don't they have them to get comments on their blogs also. I did it because I enjoyed it, but no more. I'll always join Beverly's Pink Saturday because it was my first and I love it. And Beverly is a real lady. The others don't care as long as they get enough participants or followers to visit them so they can make money with their ads. I'm getting sick of this scam. I'm through with every other Linky party.

Last Sunday during our third hour of church I went into the nursery. I just didn't want to listen to a lesson from our Relief Society, but preferred to be with little munchkins and eat animal crackers and Goldfish with them. Yes, I made sure they had some animal crackers after I heard a mummy complained that they shouldn't be giving them that in nursery. What does she think is going to keep them interested for an hour if they don't get a snack mid morning? I tell ya, sometimes - kapow! But it was delightful because a little boy fell in love with me. Now, he's only about a year or so old and I probably smelled of animal crackers, but he was so clingy and adorable with his sweet smelling blond, spiky hair that I couldn't resist staying in there for almost the whole hour. I don't think I'd want to be in with eight kids under 3 years old for any length of time because it is very tiring for this old lady. Has anyone heard of getting Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome from nursery at church?! ;-)

Now, Beverly said to help celebrate St. Patrick's Day we could post some green along with out pink. Let's see what these gorgeous rooms do for ya, chicks! Personally, I think they are absolutely stunning.

I am not fond of dark spaces but this is one I found stunning. Very regal looking. Just changing that wallpaper would brighten it up and make it acceptable to me because I do love the gold and purple together. Reminds me of a king.

I cannot resist any photo with a sweet little birdhouse in it, but the snuggle-y bed just adds to its appeal.

Lots of white with splotches of very bright color thrown in. Gorgeous!

Day dreaming...

Just some beautiful eye candy for you on how to display lovely clothing.

I cannot resist inviting entrances.

Yes, I know...you're lusting about now. :-)

See what you can do with just simply old picture frames. Create your own collage that can be switched out rather quickly if you only fun-tack them to the wall.

These little journals covered in gorgeous roses fabric just touched by heart.

Quaint cottage window with the prerequisite window boxes filled with brightly blooming petunias and/or geraniums.

Have a piece of white and pink cake! Yummmm...

I wouldn't give anything if my office could look like this but I'd consider giving a great deal if it could! I think it's gorgeous.

Darling way to display kitchen items if you don't have a cabinet to hide them somewhere. Make them a vignette!

Sometimes it's just simple things that can make us smile, make our day or just lift us up at a particularly tough moment. This does it for me.

People who throw kisses are hopelessly lazy.
