New Pastel Floral Homewares From Dunelm Mill

I virtually cried when I found the fabulous new ‘Candy Rose’, pastel, floral range from Dunelm mill! The entire range isn’t obtainable at the moment but I can’t wait till it is. I believe it may be a good thing that I can’t purchase every thing in the image above or I would be broke. I consider the post box will be my 1st investment.

I adore this retro sofa! The coloured glassware is a excellent new look for spring and summer. Can anyone tell me what those flowers are?

I adore how colourful these chairs are, specially against the white wooden floor. I also plan on purchasing these 3 frames you can see on the wall and those fairly ceramic vases on the sideboard. I will also be purchasing all of the floral glassware and dinnerware!

I would love to know when the complete variety is going to be accessible on the Dunelm Mill internet site. I will most certainly be getting the water bottles. I may acquire numerous simply because I’m rather clumsy and have gone via very a couple of of the common ikea bottles that I store water in. The patterns look fabulous against the white of the milk. A white ceramic bottle would look beautiful also.

This little blue button ‘trough’ style ceramic tub is advertised as a ‘trinket tray’ but I think it would make a marvellous planter. If you do purchase it as a planter don’t neglect to make sure that your plants don’t need lots of drainage. Alternatively you can locate a tutorial on pinterest on how to drill ceramics it’s certainly attainable. I know that wall art is already offered on the site and part of the Rose and Ellis collection as well.

This colourful range of laundry and cleaning supplies are absolutely marvellous and best for bringing a little colour into your everyday routines! I would love to own the pink drying rack. I may well have to invest in one of these ^_^

Floral Pastel Designer Home Wares From Ashley Thomas

I am definitely obsessed with all things  floral pastel and beautiful! The Ashley Thomas range at Debenhams is one of my absolute favourites and you will see why in just a moment. I had to incorporate this fabulous bedding as I fell totally in adore with applique cushion and that gigantic cast iron bed! I now want a massive, king size, cast iron bed for my own property ^_^

Aren’t these goods just fabulous? The cross stitched ‘Home Sweet Home’ cushion is just beautiful, the pale blue floral frilly apron would appear marvellous in my kitchen and I in fact purchased this beautiful embroidered ‘Smile frequently, dream big, laugh a lot’ embroidery hoop wall art. I was smitten and bought immediately! I had to restrain myself though simply because there were so many other fabulous bits and pieces for the kitchen that I wanted.

Almost everything in the little collage above would appear totally ideal in my kitchen! The small ‘tea’ ceramic jar need to be accessible with no the ‘tea’ so you could use it as craft storage and write your own words on it but still with the quite label on the outside. I thought the shade of pink on the lid was just a spectacular colour and definitely perfect for spring time. I’m also rather enamoured with the tiny cross stitch jars. I’m sure that notion came from Helena of Craft and Creativity.

I consider these textiles and beautiful tins are amazing for the kitchen! I absolutely adore those cupcake illustrations on the tins. The tiny illustrated mug is a gorgeous thought for mothers day.

I think the bright pink and red floral fabric apron is fabulous! I really like the gnome income box too! I also adore the bee embroidery hoop. I may have to get this one particular too, I really like bee’s and I’m rather obsessed with the Save the bees campaign. If you are in Britain please take a moment to sign the petition over at pals of the earth.

I adore these tiny cross stitch hearts on the jar and the scallop edged bowl! The colours are just fabulous.

A Floral Affair Woodland Inspiration

Today we feature a lovilee styled wedding shoot by Debbie Lourens Photography, showing that the Woodlands really feel can also be paired with a far more bohemian and colourful flare. I fell in adore with the flowers and stationary used, and the cakes, nicely, you can have a appear yourself!

The Lazy Decorator

The dirty little secrets. Yep, I told you I'm lazy when it comes to some things. I can also be frugal. Sometimes! This post will explain most of it. But let me tell you a story.

In our previous house we had a library with wood folding doors right off the living room. I didn't like them, especially closed, so I disguised them with drapes. When opened, they were tight against the wall, so I took a long length of fabric and tied it off with pretty white rope I bought at the farm store. I didn't hem or sew one single bit of the fabric as I knew we weren't going to live in that house long. (Okay, at first I thought it was our last house but after 7 or 8 years in it, I realized it was just too big for us at 5,000 square feet.) After tying it at the top, I hung it on a cup hook at the top and fanned out the top and poofed out the bottom. I then pinned on some long twisted fringe. Yes, pinned, not sewed. No one, not one single person, who came to our home ever realized they weren't finished off properly. It stayed like that for several years. We lived in that house about 14 years before we finally sold it. Not one person could detect the cheap and easy ways I decorated that home.

Now on to this house. Here I'm hanging the floral curtain.

Here you'll notice the selvage edges. I simply tuck them under.

I didn't even both to stitch them up.

Again, I didn't bother hemming them, just puddled them under.

The other side. I have so many cords running under things. I may someday have an electrician put in more outlets. I'd have at least 3 on every long wall.

The selvage can be stitched down of course, but in not doing that I leave my options open to use this fabric another time in another way if I choose to do so. Also, what you can see here by this little red arrow is that I stuck a map pin in to hold it out. My space at the top is severely limited so I cannot make the rod come out to its full potential. But if I anchor them with a tiny invisible pin along the mid-section down then they appear fuller.

I've leaving the sofa out a bit more because the new sofa will come out about the same. Also, in leaving it out more it gives the curtains more room to billow.

These photos don't even do it justice. It really is gorgeous in that room. Can't wait to see the new sofa in there.

I can also bring the bottom of the pink stripe curtain out a bit to make them appear fuller in the middle. They are now evenly distributed on the window though this photo doesn't show it as well as in person.

I am very pleased with the results.

A cute family room off a dining room, but what I found I like about this photo is the siding on the inner walls, the reds and that leather sofa barely visible on the lower side.

Sigh....What a cute little cupboard and dishes.

I'm getting ready to order a new ruffled quilt for my bed. This is beautiful but I have no idea where it came from. Mine is coming from a specialty site in California.

I do like blue and this is one vignette I thought was worthy of note.

Vintage Floral & Fruit Canisters

Can you believe these darling canisters??!! I bought them several years ago and put them on my kitchen soffit and just about forgot about them being up there. They are from the 40s or 50s I believe as it looks similar to some my grandma and mom had as I was growing up then. But they are definitely cute with the flowers and the fruit in that basket. I thought about painting them but I'm not too sure I'd want to do that as I truly love the way they are now. They're metal and the words, basket and vines look painted on and not a decal. The bottom has "The Tin Box Company of America, Inc., Long Island City, N.Y. Made in Hong Kong" printed on it. But the color is what is so unusual about this set. Pink wasn't on very many things back in the 40s and the green is an unusual green. They're a bit rusty inside but not a dent on any of them, some scratches though but they are so cute.
